DIGITAL TEACHERS
Digital Teachers is a cutting edge teacher training program that helps Bay Area educators make digital storytelling a key part of classroom instruction. The project, a partnership between KIPP Schools and Streetside, is supported by the U.S. Department of Education. Streetside educators train KIPP teachers to create lesson plans that use digital storytelling, then support them as they learn to use a mobile digital media lab in the classroom. The project will help over 1,000 students at four schools in San Francisco, Oakland, and San Lorenzo make their own short movies. To learn more about KIPP, visit http://www.kippbayarea.org.

"One day, I said to my mom, 'Would you want me if I were a boy?' I could hear nothing come out of my mom's mouth… I thought she didn't hear it, so I said it one more time, but this time I yelled, 'Would you want me if I were a boy?'"
