VOLUNTEER WITH STREETSIDE! 
Volunteering is a fun, creative, and meaningful way to make a difference in the lives of the thousands of kids we serve. And we truly need your help.

VOLUNTEER TEACHING ASSISTANTS
Our Volunteer Teaching Assistants help out in our in-school and afterschool programs.
During the School Day (8am-3pm):
» Storytelling Exchange
Storytelling Exchange volunteers provide one-on-one writing help and facilitate small group discussions. Bilingual Spanish and Chinese speakers are especially welcome to help with our ESL classes.
Commitment: At least twice a week for a 2-week program.
» Tech Tales
In our Tech Tales program, students write stories about their lives and turn them into short movies using our mobile digital media lab. Tech Tales volunteers help students one-on-one with writing, storyboarding and basic film editing. If you have used editing programs like iMovie or pick up new tech skills quickly, Tech Tales is the program for you.
Commitment: At least twice a week for a 4-week program.
Afterschool (3pm-6pm):
» Streetside Community Programs
Help students write stories and poems about their lives, improve their reading skills, and sharpen their communication skills through theater, writing, and digital storytelling in a Streetside Community Program.
Commitment: Once or twice a week for a 6-12 week program.
Office, Design, and Group Volunteer Opportunities
» Group Volunteering
There are many ways for larger groups to help out! From mailing parties to event help, the fall is a great time for group volunteering at Streetside. Learn more about group volunteer opportunities, or send us an email to schedule your group.
» Typist Corps:
Our students hand write their stories and we need help typing them for our annual anthology. If you have a couple of hours here and there to come by our office and type, we'd love your help!
Commitment: Flexible
» Design, Photography, and Videography
If you're a graphic designer interested in helping Streetside, we'd love to talk with you. We need help on everything from marketing materials to cover designs. We always need great photographers and videographers to document our events to help us better share our work with the world.
Commitment: Flexible.
