Long-Term Opportunities

Volunteer Teaching Assistant
Volunteer Teaching Assistants (VTAs) assist our Teaching Artists in the classroom by working with students one-on-one and in small groups to help them compose their life stories.

During the school day or in our afterschool programs, if you can devote two to four hours a week for six months, we’d love to have you fill out our VTA application.

Internships
Make a difference while developing your marketing, fundraising, and administrative skills. Visit our intern page to find out how our interns assist our fundraising, programming, and outreach teams.

One-time and Flexible Opportunities

Typist Corps
Use your typing skills, well-honed by office work or social media, to help ready our hand-written student stories for the annual anthology. Contact us to pick a time convenient for you to stop by our office in the winter and spring.

Design, Photography, and Videography
If you're a graphic designer, photographer, or videographer, we need your specialized expertise to help with marketing materials, cover designs, and documenting our workshops and events to share with the world.

Group Volunteering
Come in for two to three hours and enjoy light snacks, Pandora, and good conversation during our simple, but necessary, folder making and envelope stuffing parties. High school and college groups, corporate teams, and groups of friends have all brought their positive energy into our office to help with our programs and development needs. Programs needs your help cutting creative paper and assembling folders, while development needs your to help address and stuff donor appeals. The physical work last for a couple of hours, but the emotional gratification lasts much, much longer.
