GROUP VOLUNTEER EVENTS

Volunteer opportunities for corporate groups, PTAs, fraternities and sororities, or just a group of friends!

MAILING PARTIES

Help us put together our annual appeals mailing that goes out to over 2,500 supporters and donors. Come by the Streetside office for a few hours to help fold paper, stick on labels, and stuff envelopes. We hold Mailing Parties everyday for an entire week to the get the job done, and we couldn't do it without the help of volunteer groups!

When? Normally scheduled for an entire week during the months of October or April. Groups can sign up for 2-3 hour time slots.

FOLDER MAKING PARTIES

Help our Teaching Artists by putting together materials for our literacy programs. Volunteers assemble and craft materials for roughly 200 folders to be used in our programs. Streetside serves over 2,000 students each year in our programs, and each student is given their own folder where they can write their life stories. These folders are an important part of our work, and we rely on volunteers to help us!

When? Usually scheduled at the beginning of each semester in September or January. Groups can sign up for a 2-3 hour time slot.

"My life lesson was that I overcame a fear that can never go away, you. If you have that fear, just be your old self and don't feel you need to change anything that people really like about you."

Giselle, Urban Promise Academy Middle School
