More About Some of Our Wonderful Volunteers

Volunteers are a huge part of what we do here at Streetside. Trained teaching artists lead all of our programs. But volunteers are more than the icing on our cake.

They provide individual attention to youth and lead small groups during our programs. They help copy edit our anthologies of student work, and pull together our DVDs of student digital stories. They save us thousands of dollars by pulling together complex mailings in just a few hours. They help make our events a reality.

This year, we've had some incredible volunteers from University of San Francisco. Through their Office of Service Learning, we partner with classes, who do service learning projects with Streetside. Students from theater, business and sociology classes have helped make our Storytelling Exchange and Tech Tales classes happen, while learning about education and connecting with the community. USF even supplies us, free! with a fantastic student employee, Stephen Boyer, to pull it all together. Thanks, USF!

We hardly know how we'd get along without One Brick. One Brick is a nonprofit organization that brings volunteers together to support other nonprofits. We can't say enough about how very efficient One Brick is when it comes to doing a mailing. They also helped us pull off our fundraiser last year. And they have so much fun while they work! Yay, One Brick!

Of course, we have lots of volunteers who come from every part of the community. If you think volunteering at Streetside is something you'd like to do, check out our volunteer page! We'd love to have you.
